Cubitt & West in the Community

At Cubitt & West we don’t consider ourselves to be typical estate agents as we strongly believe in giving something back to the community.

In particular, and as part of our entire organisation’s approach to fund raising and supporting the community we channel our efforts to charities which provide treatment, care and support for children facing emotional, physical and mental challenges.

We are therefore proud to support the efforts of the Rainbow Trust.

Rainbow Trust LogoRainbow Trust Children's Charity provides practical and emotional support to over 1000 families a year who have a child with a life threatening or terminal illness.

With two respite houses in Surrey and Northumberland they provide a break for the whole family, allowing them to spend precious time together as a family.Rainbow Trust's Family Support Workers join the family in their own home and are there to provide whatever practical support is needed. They may attend hospital appointments with parents, sit by the bedside of the sick child to give parents a break and take worried siblings out for the day. Rainbow Trust supports families for as long as are needed - from diagnosis, through the illness and beyond.

Chris Nathan one of the Senior Operations Directors at Cubitt & West explains why the Rainbow Trust was chosen as our nominated charity. Being a father with two children of my own, who are fortunate to be in excellent health, I was keen to support a charity that focused it's efforts on helping and aiding terminally ill kids. It was a breath of fresh air to meet Jo Harris at The Rainbow Trust who had given up her high flying career to help the children and I also found all the staff and carers polite and very genuine. We are dedicated to providing support so that our contribution will have the greatest impact to Rainbow House.

Chris Nathan presenting Jo Harris with a cheque for £40,000Our support to this wonderful charity includes a donation of £40,000 to sponsor a Rainbow Trust Family Support Worker to provide additional support in the Surrey area. In addition 8 team members have decided to tackle the London to Paris Bike Ride during 29th June to 2nd July 2007, a grueling cycle ride of 290 miles in just 3 days. Plus, if that’s not enough of a feat the same team are planning to then cycle from London to Southampton only a few weeks later. So if you would like to sponsor our team, please contact your local Cubitt & West office to add your support.
