What the owner says

We have found living here incredibly convenient. We have changed the house to suit our family requirements.

The local primary & secondary schools are within walking distance. We are on a bus route too. The entrance to the Forest Way is opposite our house and this is a great stroll in to Forest Row or East Grinstead.

Ashurst Wood itself has a few shops within walking distance.

We have covered over the wooden flooring as well as the fireplace in the lounge but these have the potential to be revealed by the next owner.

It's been a great family house and has definitely worked for our dynamic.

Property details

A spacious and versatile detached home with a separate annexe is the perfect home for a family and especially if you happen to have the extended family coming too. A gated driveway comfortably takes two cars. The room sizes throughout will leave you somewhat open-mouthed at how to fill them. An entrance porch makes way to a huge reception hall which greets you like a smart maître de and could easily be a reception room on its own. Natural light floods in courtesy of the large window on the stairs. The huge lounge area can accommodate all the family and the theme of light is continued. A large conservatory & garden room offer plenty more flexibility and the conservatory is set out as the dining room and enjoys a pleasant outlook over the rear. This is made even more pleasant with the air conditioning unit. With 20ft of length to utilise in the kitchen/dining room you won’t be short of room to cook up a storm. The annexe has been added by the current owners and is separately accessed allowing this to be completely independent. A double bedroom and bathroom accompany a lounge and kitchen area. Four bedrooms span the first floor and the master bedroom has not only air conditioning but a walk in wardrobe too. The third has a bespoke 'Sharps' fitted desk with drawers and fitted wardrobe.

A mature well kept garden wraps around the property with patio area and storage shed, The beautiful Magnolia is a feature of the front garden and mature Acers to the rear.

Guides

Our local guide for East Grinstead

Looking for estate agents and letting agents in East Grinstead? Our local branch of Cubitt & West can be found in Whitehall Parade, near the cinema.

The historic town is situated on the very edge of High Weald, an area of outstanding natural beauty that stretches from Horsham to the west all the way to Hastings on the coast. You can enjoy the stunning country side and rolling hills as well as the benefits of an urban centre with exceptional transport links to London and the rest of the country.

Lying on the Greenwich Meridian, the town is steeped in history and boasts one of the longest continuous runs of 14th Century timber-frame buildings in the country. One notable building is Sackville College, where John Mason Neale wrote the popular Christmas carol 'Good King Wenceslas'. The High Street is home to the oldest parade of shops in the country where you'll find plenty of independent boutique shops.

Travelling from East Grinstead station will see you in Clapham Junction and Victoria in under an hour. Whilst the A22 and 23 will see you to the coast in similar time, with Brighton and Eastbourne within easy reach.
