Patcham sprung up around the village's All Saints church in the 12th Century. Its long history can be seen in many of the listed buildings on Church Hill and the Old London Road. However, it wasn't until the 20th Century that the village really began to expand. Many of the homes you see today were originally built in the 1930s when the village was incorporated into the Greater Brighton area.
