What the owner says

We bought this bungalow almost 30 years ago, mainly due to its private, semi-rural location yet being within easy access to Dorking and Holmwood station. It is on the bus route so makes getting out and about easy if you don't want to take the car. We knocked down the original garage and built the sitting room and, in what was then a redundant outside space, built the shower room, which is tiled in marble. We also added on the conservatory and installed a new boiler in 2016. It is a great location being so close to Capel where there is an active, friendly village community. There is plenty to get involved in such as the bridge, tennis, cricket and film clubs. We are now downsizing and hope the new owners will enjoy living here.

Property details

As you drive up to this bungalow you will certainly appreciate the private location being set back from the road and, being on a 0.619 acre plot, there is ample scope to really make this your own with plenty of room to improve and extend (STPP).

The large double aspect sitting room is the ideal place to relax with a good book or in front of the TV and with doors leading on to the garden you can really let the outside in during those warm summer months. The dining room provides that much sought after second reception room and could also be used as a dining/second sitting room as the current owners do or even to use as a third bedroom. With a good size kitchen leading on to the conservatory you can see how you could incorporate this into one large fabulous open plan space with a sleek and modern kitchen to suit modern day living.

The two double bedrooms are of a good size and with both a family bathroom and a separate shower room there won't be any queues in the morning.

There is ample parking and garaging as well as a workshop/shed in the garden. With gardens to three sides if you are green fingered you will love making the most of this 0.619 acre plot.

This bungalow is sure not to hang around for long so make sure to book your viewing today.

Steeped in history and literature Dorking was the birthplace of legendary actor Laurence Olivier, who lived in Wathen Road, and was home to Daniel Defoe. The author of Robinson Crusoe was educated at the Rev. James Fisher's boarding school in Pixham Lane. As an old market town it is renowned for its antique shops with West Street being the heart of the local antique trade. There is still a market held in the town every Friday in St. Martins Walk. Contemporary arts on offer include a cinema and theatre and there is also a Leisure Centre to cater for your fitness needs. The local schools offer another attraction to the area for parents, with the 'Ofsted Outstanding' St.Pauls primary and The Ashcombe secondary school, which Ofsted praised for its 'exceptional pastoral care'.
