What the owner says

We have lived here for 11 years and will be very sad to leave.

We've enjoyed walking all over the golf course and Ashdown Forest with our 3 dogs, and really appreciated the peace and quiet of this location.

We will certainly miss the cosy winter nights in front of the fireplace!

Property details

Situated in the ever-popular village of Forest Row is this charming character cottage which dates back to the 17th Century. The property is only a 2 minute walk from the Ashdown Forest & golf course, which makes it the ideal spot for dog walks. As you enter, you are welcomed in by the white stable door which is a lovely feature, and really sets the tone for what’s to come. The kitchen offers plenty of work top space and is conveniently set off of the lounge/diner, so you can prepare meals whilst keeping a watchful eye on the children simultaneously. There is ample cupboard space, and under stairs storage. A lounge/diner with exposed beams and gorgeous Inglenook fireplace sets the mood for cold winter evenings in nestled by the crackling wood burner. The lounge/diner also offers enough space to accommodate for a dining table and chairs. The rear garden is a generous size and is very private. The brick paving throughout makes for easy maintenance and the ideal spot to sit out and relax after a hard day’s work. The upstairs accommodation consists of 2 bedrooms, the 2nd of which is currently being utilised as a home office but could comfortably accommodate a double bed. The spacious bedroom one is naturally lit throughout and offers plenty of space for wardrobes. Just off of this is the modern shower room which has been well looked after. A massive benefit to this beautiful property is the driveway parking for 2 cars, but with the local shops only a short walk away you will find that the cars will be rarely used!

Our local guide for East Grinstead

Looking for estate agents and letting agents in East Grinstead? Our local branch of Cubitt & West can be found in Whitehall Parade, near the cinema.

The historic town is situated on the very edge of High Weald, an area of outstanding natural beauty that stretches from Horsham to the west all the way to Hastings on the coast. You can enjoy the stunning country side and rolling hills as well as the benefits of an urban centre with exceptional transport links to London and the rest of the country.

Lying on the Greenwich Meridian, the town is steeped in history and boasts one of the longest continuous runs of 14th Century timber-frame buildings in the country. One notable building is Sackville College, where John Mason Neale wrote the popular Christmas carol 'Good King Wenceslas'. The High Street is home to the oldest parade of shops in the country where you'll find plenty of independent boutique shops.

Travelling from East Grinstead station will see you in Clapham Junction and Victoria in under an hour. Whilst the A22 and 23 will see you to the coast in similar time, with Brighton and Eastbourne within easy reach.
