What the owner says

We have lived in Ringmer for 15 years. The quiet location is perfect for bringing up children and pets with great local walks. The village green has given us a perfect playground for our children.

We are close to the 12th century church and have seen many weddings over the years. The village hall, local shops and pub are just across the road and we can walk to the local schools (primary, secondary and sixth form), dentist, doctors and vets. We are a five minute drive from Lewes and one hour from London.

We have enjoyed being part of this friendly community and feel privileged to have lived in this beautiful, picturesque and very quirky cottage.

Property details

This quaint cottage was built around the late 1800s and still retains many of its character features such as stained glass windows, open fireplace with Victorian copper surround, beams and weatherboarding.

The front of the house with its long, lush garden, looks out over the village green and the kitchen/breakfast area, with hand-built units and butler sink, is a great spot for sociable dining that leads out into the pretty, rear courtyard garden, easy to maintain with Indian slate paving. You have the added bonus of a loft room with delightful views and off road parking for residents.

Don't forget to explore your surroundings and enjoy a fresh walk across the South Downs, stunning anytime of year, quickly accessed from this location.

It's only a short stroll to the handy 'everyday' local shops, which include a butchers, bakery, convenience store and pharmacy. It is an ideal location if you commute to work as the regular bus route heads to Lewes and Brighton. In Lewes you will also find a mainline train station providing direct links to London.

The quintessential English village green is just up the road where cricket and stoolball are played in the summer months. There are many other sporting and social groups you can join, with something for everyone and all ages.
