What the owner says

We bought this bungalow around 15 years ago mainly due to its quiet location at the end of a cul-de-sac.

We also loved the fact it has a good size garden, which is private and secluded, along with a large, spacious lounge.

Since moving here we have put in a new kitchen and bathroom, replaced the windows and doors, re-skimmed the walls and put in new lights and radiators.

Box Hill is in an area of outstanding natural beauty and with National Trust land in abundance it is in a great location for dog walking with trails and pathways right on your doorstep!

We are now looking to move out of the area and hope the new owners will enjoy living here as much as we have.

Property details

The minute you pull up on the driveway you get a sense of the care and attention the current owners have put into making this a wonderful home. The large and spacious lounge is the perfect place to watch TV, basking in the warmth of the log burner when the evenings are chilly and in warmer months open up the bi-fold doors and really let the outside in. There is a modern kitchen/breakfast room, complete with integrated appliances and space for a range cooker, and while guests or family are seated at the breakfast bar the chef of the house can be cooking up a storm in the kitchen area. If you enjoy entertaining you will love the separate dining room, ideal for dinner parties and long Sunday lunches. With three bedrooms and a good size family bathroom with separate shower, there is plenty of room for a growing family or if guests want to stay over. The garden comes into its own during the warmer months when you can make the most of the outside entertaining area with a built-in BBQ and patio along with a decked area, which is cool and shady and covered in wisteria, perfect on those hot summer days. The large lawn has plenty of space if the children want to run around but if you prefer relaxing on a sunlounger and catching the sun then there is an additional patio area ideal for this. With a double garage with electric doors and tack room to the rear, ample parking, a summerhouse which is currently used as a gym, 2 sheds and raised vegetable beds where you can grown your own, this home really does have a lot to offer. Steeped in history and literature Dorking was the birthplace of legendary actor Laurence Olivier, who lived in Wathen Road, and was home to Daniel Defoe. The author of Robinson Crusoe was educated at the Rev. James Fisher's boarding school in Pixham Lane. As an old market town it is renowned for its antique shops with West Street being the heart of the local antique trade. There is still a market held in the town every Friday in St. Martins Walk. Contemporary arts on offer include a cinema and theatre and there is also a Leisure Centre to cater for your fitness needs. The local schools offer another attraction to the area for parents, with the 'Ofsted Outstanding' St.Pauls primary and The Ashcombe secondary school, which Ofsted praised for its 'exceptional pastoral care'.
