What the owner says

We absolutely fell in love with the character and original features of the house and have really enjoyed filling it with our distinctive furnishings.

The larger than average open fireplace caught our eye and we love the fact that it's a working fireplace and is so complimented by the stripped original wooden flooring.

The basement has been fantastic as it has allowed our daughter to have her own private space, including a shower room.

We will miss this house very much and definitely hope to stay in the local area as it's such a wonderful location with fantastic boutiques, pubs and eateries all right on our doorstep. We hope that the new owners will enjoy living her as much as we have.

Property details

If you are looking for an attractive and well proportioned home with character then this will be sure to catch your eye.

If you enjoy spending time as a family then you will love the beautifully set lounge. With an open fireplace and plenty of space for furniture this room is ideal for cosy nights in and relaxing in front of the TV.

The spacious dining room is the perfect place to host dinner parties and entertain and being so close to the stunning country kitchen area you can easily remain part of the action whilst cooking up a storm for family and friends.

Upstairs there are two good size bedrooms which benefit from built-in wardrobes and one smaller bedroom, providing plenty of space for a growing family. Early mornings will be a pleasure as you get to enjoy your stunning bathroom that not only has a free standing bath but a walk in shower too. Downstairs in the basement there is a fantastic space that can be used as a family area or as an extra bedroom, which the current owners do, creating a perfect teenage den and with the addition of a shower room certainly is a must see.

When the summer arrives each year you can treasure time in the well kept garden whilst catching the rays and enjoying a beverage of your choice! There's plenty of room for dining al-fresco as well as space for the children to play.

Howard Road is one of Dorking's most desirable roads and is conveniently located close to the town centre with its excellent schools and great pubs and restaurants.

Steeped in history and literature Dorking was the birthplace of legendary actor Laurence Olivier, who lived in Wathen Road, and was home to Daniel Defoe. The author of Robinson Crusoe was educated at the Rev. James Fisher's boarding school in Pixham Lane. As an old market town it is renowned for its antique shops with West Street being the heart of the local antique trade. There is still a market held in the town every Friday in St. Martins Walk. Contemporary arts on offer include a cinema and theatre and there is also a Leisure Centre to cater for your fitness needs. The local schools offer another attraction to the area for parents, with the 'Ofsted Outstanding' St.Pauls primary and The Ashcombe secondary school, which Ofsted praised for its 'exceptional pastoral care'.
