What the owner says

This wonderful home has been in the family for 50 years and my parents appreciated everything it offered them. The school assembly hall was the ideal place for my father to use as his potter's workshop and studio. With its large original windows letting the light flood in, he spent many happy hours following his creative pursuits.

They really liked living within this popular village which has a lovely community feel to it. Everything they could want on a daily basis is near at hand but if they wanted a greater choice of shops or amenities, it was easy for them to get to any of the nearby towns.

Property details

Opportunities like this do not come along very often! This former Victorian village school with its attached 3 bedroom house is believed to have been built around 1860. It is a traditional build from that era and therefore has a wealth of character and offers the chance to create a wonderful family home. Potentially, It could even be divided into two semi-detached houses, subject to the usual planning consents.

The house itself has ample living space including a lounge with open fireplace and a separate dining room. An open staircase rises from the spacious reception hall to the three double bedrooms, all with fitted wardrobes and one which also has a vanity unit with wash basin.

The attached school building offers huge potential, with its vast vaulted roof assembly hall, divided into two workshops, and several adjoining rooms - you'll be able to let your imagination run wild when deciding how to use all the space!

The building sits within a 0.535 acre plot so there's plenty of outside space, most of which is currently grassed with areas of hard standing for parking.

Situated across the road from the parish church and just up the road from a traditional country pub close to the renovated canal, it's a great location. The local shops, doctor's surgery and primary school are all within easy reach and there's beautiful countryside right on the doorstep.

Closing date for receipt of Best Offers is Monday 18th March 2019 at 12pm. Please refer to the Bid Pack at the link provided below, for a full explanation of the process.
