What the owner says

I bought this house around 13 years ago, mainly due to its fantastic location and amazing views to Box Hill. Being thatched it's a beautiful and unusual house with plenty of kerb appeal, which made it all the more appealing to me.

It's in a quiet location, being towards the end of a cul-de-sac, and as soon as I walked into the extended light and bright hallway I knew it was the house for me.

I have repainted the outside of the house, had the cavity wall insulated in 2011 and in Spring 2019 have had the roof rethatched. I will miss living here and am selling with no chain.

Property details

If you're looking for a detached home in a sought after village location with wonderful views then this is what you have been searching for!

From the minute you pull up on the driveway you will agree that this home has plenty of kerb appeal and you will be intrigued to step inside to see what is on offer. The lounge is a fantastic place for relaxing and entertaining and with views out of the windows towards Box Hill it will be easy to just sit back, relax and take it all in. With doors opening onto the conservatory, which can be used as a dining room as the current owner does or another spot to sit and enjoy the views, this really is a sociable space. The additional reception room is great and being next to the kitchen it is easy to see how this could be extended and knocked through (STPP) to make one large open plan kitchen/diner - perfect for modern living. With a handy study area under the stairs, downstairs shower room, lobby and utility room there is everything you need in a family home.

Upstairs there are three double bedrooms, all with built in wardrobes and views to Box Hill, so plenty of room if guests come to stay or for a growing family, along with a good size family bathroom.

In warmer months the garden really comes into its own. If you're green fingered you will be in your element as there is plenty of room to grow your own. With space to fire up the BBQ and dine al fresco you can make the most of long hot summer's days and balmy evenings!

With a tandem garage and driveway parking this home really does have it all so make sure to book your viewing today!

Steeped in history and literature Dorking was the birthplace of legendary actor Laurence Olivier, who lived in Wathen Road, and was home to Daniel Defoe. The author of Robinson Crusoe was educated at the Rev. James Fisher's boarding school in Pixham Lane. As an old market town it is renowned for its antique shops with West Street being the heart of the local antique trade. There is still a market held in the town every Friday in St. Martins Walk. Contemporary arts on offer include a cinema and theatre and there is also a Leisure Centre to cater for your fitness needs. The local schools offer another attraction to the area for parents, with the 'Ofsted Outstanding' St.Pauls primary and The Ashcombe secondary school, which Ofsted praised for its 'exceptional pastoral care'.
