What the owner says

Having spent some wonderful years here we can honestly say what a fantastic home it has been for us.

We were immediately enticed by the fabulous village location and space the house had.

"Surrounded by natural woodland we've enjoyed the bountiful wildlife and the variety of walking trails in the area."

What we will miss along with the practical nature of the property is our garden that has been great for the family to get together. The double garage and large driveway with ample parking.

It will be incredibly sad to leave, but we know we are handing over a fantastic home to the new owners.

Property details

Sitting in your garden you will look across at your amazing home and wonder how life got this good. Set within what can only be described as one of the area’s most coveted Villages, this is a fabulous and spacious bungalow.

What makes the house so special is its refusal to compromise in any way, offering a large, adaptable layout over one floor, having been previously updated to an excellent standard.

The fastidious approach of the owners has meant that their home has also been lovingly cared for throughout their occupation. This is evident when you walk through the front door where you're greeted by a large entertaining space from the hallway to the lounge. The real heart of the house is the kitchen, being a very social space where you can converse with friends whilst making dinner and looking out at the garden, or just as simple as eating breakfast with your children.

The lounge offers a more laid back area for kicking back with family or with a good book, with a family/dining room being perfect for more formal occasions. The accommodation continues on the ground floor with four generous bedrooms (one en-suite) and additional bath, cloak and shower rooms plus a study/5th bedroom, it means that you will have all the space you could wish for.

Outside is where the house excels, with a huge plot that wraps around the house. There is enough space to park multiple cars to the front. The double garage adds convenience and grandeur, making your choice of new home that little bit easier!

Steeped in history and literature Dorking was the birthplace of legendary actor Laurence Olivier, who lived in Wathen Road, and was home to Daniel Defoe. The author of Robinson Crusoe was educated at the Rev. James Fisher's boarding school in Pixham Lane. As an old market town it is renowned for its antique shops with West Street being the heart of the local antique trade. There is still a market held in the town every Friday in St. Martins Walk. Contemporary arts on offer include a cinema and theatre and there is also a Leisure Centre to cater for your fitness needs. The local schools offer another attraction to the area for parents, with the 'Ofsted Outstanding' St.Pauls primary and The Ashcombe secondary school, which Ofsted praised for its 'exceptional pastoral care'.
