What the owner says

We bought this house around 8 years ago mainly due to its quiet location being situated at the end of a private cul de sac. It is convenient for the local shop and doctors surgery and the bus at the end of the road going to Dorking & Horsham has been invaluable. As it was built in 2005 it is very low maintenance and running costs are low. We had solar panels fitted around 6 years ago and they've saved us hundreds of pounds per year. We had oak glazed doors installed on the ground floor along with new front & rear doors and patio doors. We have decorated throughout and had new carpets and flooring laid, including amtico in the kitchen, dining room and hallway. We are now looking to downsize and relocate and hope the new owners will enjoy living here as much as we have.

Steeped in history and literature Dorking was the birthplace of legendary actor Laurence Olivier, who lived in Wathen Road, and was home to Daniel Defoe. The author of Robinson Crusoe was educated at the Rev. James Fisher's boarding school in Pixham Lane. As an old market town it is renowned for its antique shops with West Street being the heart of the local antique trade. There is still a market held in the town every Friday in St. Martins Walk. Contemporary arts on offer include a cinema and theatre and there is also a Leisure Centre to cater for your fitness needs. The local schools offer another attraction to the area for parents, with the 'Ofsted Outstanding' St.Pauls primary and The Ashcombe secondary school, which Ofsted praised for its 'exceptional pastoral care'.
