We fell in love with the warmth and unusual space provided by this ancient cottage at first sight when we first visited 12 years ago. The prominence of wood and stone felt natural and historical features such as carpenter marked beams, walk-in fireplace with bread oven, and original solid doors and fixings made it unique. The property being link-detached is peaceful and quiet.

The beamed parts of the house date back to 1580's and the other side from 1850's although 16th and 17th century beams have been reused in the kitchen.

The cottage was used as a coach house on the main road from the ports to London and is known as this property or the oldest cottage in Meadvale village.
