We originally bought this house and grounds because we wanted peace and quiet, beautiful countryside and plenty of space for our large family to visit and stay.

The village of Burwash is at the end of the lane with a Post Office, general store, butchers, pubs and much more. We live a 10 minute drive from the nearest train station at Stonegate so getting further afield is a breeze. With a total area of 3.1 acres to include patio, fruit trees and outbuildings this is the perfect family home.

We have installed solar panels and this generates up to £3000 annually depending on the weather ! The apartments at the back are very quiet, no children or animals have been allowed and some only occupied during the summer.


Property details

This lovely house, known as this property was once part of a seminary in the late 19th century and eventually became a boarding school for boys. In the late 1950s the school closed and the church demolished. The teaching priests' residence became a private house (this property) and the school behind converted into some rather exclusive apartments.

The house is very adaptable and perfect for any growing family with plenty of bedrooms and reception rooms. The kitchen is a great size and can easily accommodate a table so easily for those off the cuff sit down meals.
